Created by Alex Raymond for the King Features comic strip. It walked a fine line of encapsulating both the nostalgia of the original 1930s comics and a healthy dose of 1980s cheesiness. The 80s super rock group, Queen, did the theme song and it immediately became both a fan hit and legendary. Flash Gordon is the classic tale of an underdog fighting against oppression, somehow beating the odds to win, both the battle and his girl. The movie stars Sam J.
