Emergency! Was a television series that combined genres of medical drama and action adventure. It debut in 1972 and continued until 1977 and was centered around two rescuers that worked as paramedics and firefighters in Los Angeles. Randolph Mantooth who portrayed John Roderick “Johnny” Gage, a young, man who was forever unlucky in love, and Kevin Tighe played the part of Roy DeSoto, a down to earth mature family man. Together this duo formed Squad 51, a medical and rescue unit of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They worked in conjunction with the staff of Rampart General Hospital medical staff played by Robert Fuller and Julie London.
